Reblog with one thing you hate about having Crohn’s/UC/IBD
i feel like no one should hate something that they can’t change. hating your disease is like hating your arms. it’s a part of you. everyone has something that they don’t like that makes their life either more difficult or awkward in some way. hating your disease is hating a part of you. I never asked to be diagnosed with UC 4 years ago. Never asked for my doctors to take 3 of those years to get it under control. Never asked for my parents to tell me that it’s all in my head. Never asked for remicade treatment every 6 weeks for THE REST OF MY LIFE. Never asked to lose that kind of privacy over my life. Never asked that I felt less like a woman. Never asked to question my future. It’s easy to hate yourself. But it’s better for you and your well being to love yourself no matter what your disease.
I know it’s hard and i know that some of you are venting. But i think that this is too negative for those that are finding solace in being newly diagnosed. Yeah it sucks, but it makes for cool conversations and funny jokes. Also, everyone asks me for pooping advice. which is cool. haha
